PROCESSIONS votes for women processions.co.uk https://www.processions.co.uk/
On March 3, 1913, a large procession of 8,000 men and women gathered on Pennsylvania Avenue to demand the right to vote. This event, organized by the National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA), created a new energy for the suffrage movement, and paved the way for the landmark 19th amendment to be passed in Congress just a few short years later.
Spectators and participants alike viewed the spectacle of the parade as one of power, meaning, and enfranchisement. Banners, floats, and other props displayed a multitude of political messages aimed at capturing the public’s attention.
